ALL GAMES HAVE A BEST BET LET'S HAVE A WEEKEND
NFL Best Bet Season Record: 8-8-1
Week 2 of Best Bets Week 2 of wins, let's rock
New Orleans Saints @ Dallas Cowboys(-6.5)
DK -110
FD -102
The Saints have to show they can do it against a a team that doesn't have a chance of going 0-17. The Cowboys went into Cleveland and thrashed a team with questions on the OLine but has a good defense. I expect them to do the same in their home opener, where they've won 16 consecutive regular season games.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens(-8.5)
DK -112
FD -115
The Raiders are a west coast team traveling east for a 1PM start. They are facing a team coming off of a mini-bye. They were run on very effectively by the chargers, who do not have the same dynamism or receiving corp to force a light box as the Ravens. Ravens by a zillion
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders OVER 43.5
DK -108
FD -110
Listen, there's a chance we have a teams are so bad they look decent game. Both of these defenses aside from Dexter Lawrence on the Giants are putrid. Daniel Jones has played well against the commanders historically, going 5-1-1 and throwing 10 touchdowns in these games. Washington will have some room to make plays. There are points to be had, at least 44 of them
Los Angeles Chargers(-4.5) @ Carolina Panthers
DK -110
FD -115
Everything I said about the Raiders going west coast to east coast for a 1PM start does not apply to the Chargers. The Chargers have a great OLine, a clear identity on both sides of the ball, and are facing the Panthers. Without Derrick Brown the Panthers are going to have issues doing anything on defense, and even with an improved OLine, it's not easy facing Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack.
Indianapolis Colts(-2.5) @ Green Bay Packers
DK -115
FD -115
I respect Matt LaFleur as a coach, even when his brain breaks in late game scenarios where he takes games from 1 score to 1 score. Andy Reid can't manage a clock, what can you do. Even with his exceptional play design and player development, I don't think he can Malik Willis playing well behind a shaky OLine and incredibly young receivers that he does not have chemistry with at this point. I think the Colts aren't getting enough respect. They should be favored by more, which means I'll happily take them. They should be able to run the ball dynamically and take the top off a young defense. I also think they'll have way more time of possession and a passing attack that hits the intermediate part of the field against a team that doesn't have Joe Mixon and road graters up front.
San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings(+4.5)
DK -110
FD -110
I love the Vikings here. The defense is tailor made to put Brock Purdy in a box to the point where the 49ers lied about him having a concussion. That Vikings defense had Ivan Pace, Harrison Smith, and some prayer. This current unit is vastly improved and I expect them to give the 49ers more than what they can handle on that side of the ball.
The 49ers will also be hell for the Vikings offense, but the Vikings tackles are equipped to pass block and Justin Jefferson requires an entire secondary's attention. I don't think the Vikings win outright, but I think it'll be a rock fight.
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars(-3.0)
DK -118
FD -110
If DeShaun Watson is suiting up, bet against him. It doesn't really require more analysis beyond him being truly awful. The Jags are solid. They just need to not turn the ball over and they'll win.
Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots UNDER 38.0
DK -108
FD -110
Folks, we got ourselves a rock fight. Two badass defenses. Two offensive lines with signifcantr issues. Screams 10-7 and I'm here for it.
New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans(ML)
DK +145
FD +166
The Jets issues were that the offense was nonfunctional against a good San Fran unit that had linebackers that flew downfield, physicals corners, and disruptive lineman. The Titans had all of those things and should have beat the Bears. The Titans will also have an easier time against what was a shockingly soft Jets defense. I can picture T'Vondre Sweat and Jeffery Simmons eating up the Jets poor interior O-Line and making Aaron Rodgers extremely uncomfortable.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions(-7.5)
DK -105
FD -105
The Buccaneers being down starting corners and safeties against the Lions is bad, and not good. The Lions should maul them outside. All they'll have to do is force the Buccaneers to play a light box and it's over. Gibbs and Montgomery will just hammer away. I'd also like to see the Buccaneers perform against a professional unit tat isn't the Commanders. the Lions were able to keep the Rams in check, which is a much better barometer.
Los Angeles Rams(ML) @ Arizona Cardinals
DK -110
FD -104
Even with the Rams as injured as they are , I still like them over the Cardinals. If they even had a semblance of a playmaker on defense the Cardinals would have left Orchard park with a win. The Rams won't get caught with their pants down against a defense that is incapable of creating pressure. Cooper Kupp and Kyren Williams will be smashing a poor unit.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs UNDER 48.0
DK -110
FD -115
Early season Bengals vs Early season Chiefs has grind written all over it. Lou Anarumo will cook up something to frustrate Mahomes. The Bengals will be a semi-functional offense. The game will be a grind, and I love the under for that reason
Pittsburgh Steelers(-2.5) @ Denver Broncos
DK -120
FD -115
The Steelers are going to put Bo Nix in a box. He can't throw past 10 yards. TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, and Alex Highsmith are going to eat him alive. The Seahawks flustered Nix with coverage, the Steelers will overwhelm him with power. Steelers all day.
Chicago Bears @ Houston Texans(6.5)
DK -108
FD -6.5
It'll take Caleb Williams some time to adjust to the NFL. They are facing a super bowl contender that can function on offense to kill a game. They are multiple and can fluster even the best defenses. I think The Bears win 9 games this year, but this just isn't one of them. I think we have to wait another week or so to see the true Williams breakout game. Until then, Give me the Stroud Boys.
