In tonight's playoff game, we have two teams capable of thrashing teams with dynamic offense. Notre Dame is 10-2 to the spread and Indiana is 9-3 to the spread. Kurtis Rourke is awesome. Jeremiyah Love is Awesome. What separates these teams in my opinion is defense.
The two teams that slowed down Indiana were Ohio State and Michigan and what the have in common is NFL caliber defensive lineman and linebackers. Notre Dame has Rylie Mills and Howard Cross anchoring the A and B gaps with Jack Kiser as a hammer roaming the middle. Benjamin Morrison and Xavier Watts are also playing awesome in the secondary. They are capable of choking out teams that don't have the same level of trench play.
Indiana does not have the same level of trench capability. Mikail Kamara is an impressive EDGE prospect that's going to the NFL, but by himself he cannot wreck the Notre Dame rushing attack. Give me the Irish for the first playoff best bet.
