Louisiana Tech has been a fun mid-major for a while. Even without Billy Napier they can put up points with the best of them. I'm encouraged to pick them in this game because of who their losses are too. SMU is a very solid program so losing to them by multiple scores is fine, same goes for Nebraska just because of the talent gap. One Score losses to the Mean Green and the Hill Toppers isn't a terrible thing either. They're a competitive mid major that puts up points, and more than Best Bet worthy.
Middle Tennessee State just has had a bad year. They came off a Bowl Win in 2022 just to get boat raced by the majority of opponents. Losing close to Mizzou feels forever ago. Their only win is against a Division 1AA and have no managed to stay within a score since losing by 8 to a less than stellar Colorado State at home.
So yeah take Louisiana Tech if only for their classic uniforms.
